B.F. Day Elementary School has set up a mobile food donation cart to support families in need, operating on a simple “take what you need, give what you can” principle.

The cart is located in front of the school office and may be moved outdoors when weather permits. Families can take food home anytime, and students can access it at the end of the school day (not during school hours). For those who prefer privacy, school counselor Tobi Nussbaum will discreetly prepare bags upon request at tlnussbaum@seattleschools.org.

How to help

The school welcomes donations of non-perishable items like canned goods, pasta, rice, and shelf-stable snacks. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Drop-offs can be made at the pantry cart anytime during school hours, generally 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. when the office is staffed. You can call ahead at 206-252-6010.

For more information about donating or community partnerships, contact Tobi Nussbaum at tlnussbaum@seattleschools.org or 206-252-6010, or PTSA’s Cathy Braasch at cathy.braasch@gmail.com.

More details are available at the B.F. Day website.
