The Fremont Baptist Church is calling on neighbors to help spread some springtime cheer to children living in local shelters.

The church’s outreach committee is collecting donations of small toys, treats and Easter candy through March 15. On Sunday, March 15, community members are invited to join after the 10:30 a.m. service to assemble the goodie bags together.

The bags will be delivered to Solid Ground and the Union Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter ahead of Easter on April 5.

Last year, the church assembled and delivered 125 bags, and they’re hoping to match that number again this year.

Whether you can drop off a bag of candy or show up on March 15 to help stuff bags, all are welcome to participate. Donations can be dropped off at the church at 717 N. 36th St. between now and March 15. Call 206-632-7994 for further information and to confirm drop-off timing.
