Zoo Doo season is here and ZooTunes tickets are on sale

,

Two Woodland Park Zoo announcements worth knowing about, one for your garden and one for your summer calendar.

Zoo Doo, the zoo’s signature compost made from animal bedding and waste from zebras, giraffes, rhinos, lions and more, goes on sale now for pickup starting this weekend. The fully composted fertilizer is available in sizes ranging from 25 gallons ($16.50) to a 550-gallon pickup truck load ($125). Pickup runs three consecutive weekends – March 21-22, March 28-29 and April 4-5 – from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the zoo. The zoo composts approximately 500 tons of animal waste each year as part of its waste diversion program. Orders must be placed in advance at zoo.org/zoodoo.
