Neighbor Day Is Saturday: Here’s how Fremont is celebrating

The 31st Annual Seattle Neighbor Day is this Saturday and Fremonsters have many options for participating.

  • The Upper Fremont Neighbors are hosting a gathering at Fremont Peak Park from noon to 3:30 p.m. with blankets, snacks and lawn games. No RSVP needed. Bring your own games and snacks if you’d like. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will move to a later Saturday in May. Questions? Email upperfremontneighbors@gmail.com.
  • Fire Station 9 at 3829 Linden Ave. N will be open to visitors from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • The Fremont Arts Council is celebrating May Day at Meridian Playground near the Good Shepherd Center from 1 to 7 p.m. with a community potluck, maypole dance, flower headdress making, and kids’ crafts and games. It’s a very Fremonty event!

If you aren’t in the mood for attending an event, the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods encourages neighbors to celebrate the day in various ways, from saying hello in the apartment hallways, checking in with someone who lives alone, or introducing yourself to a new neighbor. The day belongs to everyone.
