Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting two public meetings this week to share design updates on the Green Lake Community Center rebuild and gather community input.
The meetings are tonight, Wednesday, July 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, July 18, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Both are at the Green Lake Community Center, 7201 East Green Lake Dr. N.
The project covers a new aquatic center, updated play area, and renovations to the existing community center building for a total investment of $88.5 million. Construction is planned to begin in late 2027.
Earlier this year, a petition from local swimmers urged the city to build a larger, more flexible pool rather than simply replacing the current six-lane, 25-yard facility with one of the same size.
This week’s meetings are a chance for the community to see updated designs and provide direct input. For those who can’t attend, the project presentation will be posted online at engageseattleparks.com/glcc-and-pool-rebuild after the first meeting.
