Hello, neighbors! Welcome to Fremont Neighbor Notes, a Friday guide to what’s happening around our community in the coming week. 

August 26: Fremont Neighborhood Council Meeting – The Fremont Neighborhood Council meets Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. at Doric Lodge to hear long-awaited updates on A.B. Ernst Park from Seattle Parks Department and discuss vacant storefronts with the Seattle Office of Economic Development and Fremont Chamber of Commerce. The meeting, which will be livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram, includes a board business session at 6:15 p.m. covering topics such as the September candidate forum and organizational matters. The council’s September candidate forum scheduled for Sept. 30 will feature candidates for mayor, city attorney and Seattle City Council Districts 8 and 9.

August 28: Fremont on the Rocks – Fremont On The Rocks returns Thursday, Aug. 28, with attendees using tasting passports to sample 10 specialty cocktails at participating retail locations starting at 5 p.m. The event features cocktails from local establishments including Barrel Thief, Red Star Taco Bar and El Camino, with participants visiting shops like Fremont Vintage Mall and Forest Ceramic Co. that offer exclusive discounts along the route. Packet pickup begins at 4:30 p.m. at HomeStreet Bank on Evanston Avenue North, with participants voting for their favorite cocktails throughout the evening.
