Hello, neighbors! Welcome to Fremont Neighbor Notes, a Friday guide to what’s happening around our community in the coming week.
August 31: Troll Documentary Screening at the Library – The Friends of Troll’s Knoll Park will host a free screening of “The Hall of Giants,” a 2013 documentary about the creation of the Fremont Troll, on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fremont Public Library. The 90-minute film by Michael Falcone features interviews with the sculpture’s creators and tells the story of how the Fremont Arts Council’s community-voted design competition led to the iconic artwork under the Aurora Bridge in 1989. Director Falcone and special guests will attend the screening, which explores the Troll’s construction and its role in community building as the sculpture approaches its 35th anniversary in December.
