The Seattle University women’s basketball team showed up Dec. 9 at Taki’s Mad Greek Restaurant to help the Fremont Rotary Club assemble sandwiches for the community.

All told, volunteers made 270 sandwiches for Compass Housing Alliance, FamilyWorks in Wallingford and Operation Nightwatch, all organizations serving people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

This marked the second time this semester the team has participated in the monthly sandwich-making night, and they’ve already asked to return next semester.

The Fremont Rotary Club — known locally as the “Fun Club” — holds sandwich-making sessions every second Tuesday of the month. For more information, visit facebook.com/FremontRotary.
