Earth Day Events
Downtown Fremont Trash Pick-Up | Today, April 22 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM | North 36th and Palatine
Odd Dog and Diaper Stork are hosting a neighborhood clean-up event today in the heart of Fremont. All necessary supplies, including trash bags and gloves, will be provided. The event will feature snacks, refreshments, and music to keep spirits high while working together to beautify our streets. If you can’t make the noon start time, takeaway options are available so you can contribute whenever and wherever works for your schedule.

Ballard Locks Pollinator Garden Installation | Today, April 22 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Fish Ladder Greenspace at Ballard Locks
The Ballard Locks is hosting a volunteer event this morning focused on installing a Pollinator Garden and restoring native habitat at the Fish Ladder greenspace. Snacks, tools, and gloves will be provided. The event will proceed rain or shine, so dress accordingly. Parking is available on either side of the Locks (not provided by the event). All volunteers must sign waivers, and guardians must be present to sign for minors.
Recurring Volunteer Opportunities

Corps of Engineers Monthly Work Parties | Second Saturday of each month | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Rotating between Fremont and Montlake cuts
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosts monthly volunteer events focused on removing invasive plants and occasionally replanting native species. Events rotate between Fremont and Montlake cuts. Seattle Scooper Sonics | Every other Saturday | 9:00 AM | Fremont Coffee Company
The Seattle Scooper Sonics welcome volunteers of all ages to help clean Fremont’s streets on a bi-weekly basis. This community-building initiative is a great way to meet neighbors while making a tangible difference in our local environment. Fremont Rotary Adopt-A-Street | Quarterly | Burke Gilman Trail, starting at the Fremont Dinosaurs
Four times a year, the Fremont Rotary Club cleans a section of the Burke Gilman Trail that runs through our neighborhood. Starting at the Fremont Topiary Dinosaurs and working westward, volunteers help maintain this vital community resource that connects Ballard to Bothell.
