May 23-29: Last week of Bike Month – May is Bike Month and there’s still time to join. Whether you’re commuting, cruising for errands, or just out for a joyride, the final week is a great chance to rack up miles. Need extra motivation? Seattle just set a new record for April bike trips over the Fremont Bridge, logging 95,742 rides, the highest since before the pandemic, according to the Seattle Bike Blog.
May 24: Hidden Hall R&B and Hip Hop Throwback Party – Get ready to dance at “Work It: 90s–2000s R&B and Hip Hop Throwback Party” on May 24 at 9 p.m., now taking place at Hidden Hall (400 N 35th Street, Seattle, WA 98103). This 21+ event celebrates the best of the iconic eras with classic tracks and nostalgic vibes. Doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets are available online.
May 27: Fremont Neighborhood Council meeting on Emergency Preparedness – The next FNC meeting on Tuesday, May 27 will focus on personal preparedness and local Emergency Hubs. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., preceded by board business at 6:15 p.m., and features a presentation by Anne Forest from Seattle’s Office of Emergency Management. The meeting will also be livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram, and attendees are encouraged to pay annual dues to become official FNC members.
May 28: Fremont Chamber with Brooks CEO – The Fremont Chamber is hosting “The Center of the (Running) Universe” at Brooks Trailhead on May 28 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The event features a keynote by Dan Sheridan, CEO of Brooks, discussing the company’s role and growth in the Seattle running community. Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members, and attendees must be 21 or older. The evening includes a pre-event run with the Seattle Green Lake Running Club and post-event refreshments from Fremont Brewing and Brooks Trailhead.
