Fremont Baptist Church invites neighbors to give, sing, and serve this season

,

Fremont Baptist Church is inviting neighbors to celebrate the season with several upcoming community events focused on service, togetherness, and holiday traditions.

Toy drive for local families

Through Dec. 10, the church is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children at Mary’s Place and the Union Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter. Community members can drop off donations on Sunday mornings at the church, located at 717 N. 36th St., or call the office at 206-632-7994 to arrange another time.

Those interested in contributing can find gift suggestions on the Mary’s Place Christmas Wish List at www.marysplaceseattle.org/holiday. The church’s mission is simple, “Make a child smile this Christmas!”

Caroling, cookies, and cocoa

On Sunday, Dec. 21, from 6-7 p.m., the church will host an evening of Christmas caroling featuring traditional holiday songs, cookie decorating for all ages, and hot chocolate. The free community event welcomes everyone to join in the festive celebration.

Looking ahead: MLK Day of Service

Mark your calendars for Jan. 19, when Fremont Baptist Church will honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a Day of Service from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Volunteers will assemble 200 hygiene kits for local shelters, embodying Dr. King’s call to “Make it a Day On, not a Day Off.” More information is available at www.fremontmlkday.org.

All events are open to the Fremont community. For questions about any of these programs, contact Fremont Baptist Church at 206-632-7994.

Welcome!
