December 18: Fremont Rocket Re-lighting Ceremony – The Fremont Chamber of Commerce hosts a Rocket Re-lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m. between Triangle Spirits and El Camino during the Fremont Night Market. The celebration honors sponsors and donors who supported the Keep the Rocket Lit campaign, which funds ongoing maintenance for one of Fremont’s funkiest art installations, with donations still being accepted. Attendees can watch the rocket blast off and shop local artisans at the holiday market, with limited-edition rocket-themed holiday sweatshirts available from the online Fremont Neighborhood Council merch shop featuring Ugly Sweater Design Contest winning designs.
December 20: Trollstice Holiday Market – The Fremont Sunday Market presents its fourth annual Trollstice Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 20, from noon to 5 p.m. under the Fremont Bridge. Shoppers can receive complimentary bling rings curbside and free totes with purchases of $50 or more, while the Fremont Arts Council will bring trolls and giant puppets for a festive walk through the market.
December 20: Feast of Winter Solstice – The Fremont Arts Council hosts its annual Feast of Winter Solstice on Saturday, Dec. 20, at Ballard Oddfellows Hall with doors opening at 6 p.m. The evening includes a feast at 6:30 p.m., a Ritual to Call the Sun at 8:15 p.m., and dancing, drumming and art installations at 9 p.m., with attendees encouraged to dress in their finest finery and bring food to share. Admission is $15-$25 sliding scale or free for volunteers and children, with artists invited to contribute lanterns, installations or banners to the celebration.
December 21: Caroling, Cookies and Cocoa at Fremont Baptist Church – Fremont Baptist Church invites the community to an evening of Christmas caroling, cookie decorating and hot chocolate on Sunday, Dec. 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. The free event welcomes everyone to join in the festive celebration featuring traditional holiday songs and activities for all ages at 717 N. 36th St.
Through January 18: WildLanterns at Woodland Park Zoo – Woodland Park Zoo’s WildLanterns presented by Western Washington Toyota Dealers features larger-than-ever illuminated displays through Jan. 18, running nightly from 4 to 9 p.m. except select closure dates. The immersive experience includes Pacific Northwest woodland creatures, a spectacular Mount Rainier display, a sneak peek at animals coming to the zoo’s new 2026 exhibit including red pandas and tree kangaroos, and an Interactive Zone for all ages.
