Fremont Oktoberfest, Seattle’s largest beer festival featuring craft brews from local and international brewers, traditional German food, and live entertainment, returns to the neighborhood Sept. 18-20.
Organizers say they need more than 700 volunteers to keep the beer flowing. Shifts run just three to four hours, and in exchange, volunteers walk away with free admission, beer tokens, and more.
Alexa Coca, the event’s volunteer coordinator, said the festival built in numerous perks for anyone willing to donate a few hours.
“Standard shift volunteers receive admission on another day or after their shift, seven beer tokens, an Oktoberfest shirt and a free one-week Anytime Fitness membership,” Coca said. “Sign up for a Saturday night or Sunday shift, and you’ll get two days of admission, 10 beer tokens, a beer after your shift, a ride down the Alpine Slide, free parking and a free one-month membership.”
The Anytime Fitness perk is good at locations in Fremont, Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, West Seattle, Northgate, Des Moines, Kirkland, Sammamish, Lynnwood, and Redmond.
Volunteer roles include:
- Beer Pouring Crew: Collect tokens, pour samples and check IDs.
- Ticket Booth Team: Scan tickets, hand out tasting passports, and welcome guests.
- Merchandise: Sell official 2026 Fremont Oktoberfest gear near the stage.
- Production: Help with festival setup and beer loading (must be able to lift 25-plus pounds).
Volunteers must be 21 or older and, by law, cannot drink before or during a shift, serve minors, or serve anyone who appears intoxicated.
