The Fremont Arts Council is looking for an artist to design the official poster for this year’s Fremont Solstice Parade, and the deadline is coming up fast.
Artists interested in submitting should email a brief description or sketch of their concept, along with samples of previous work, to jenny@fremontartscouncil.org by Monday, April 20.
The FAC is looking for artwork that captures the parade’s spirit, which in their words is, “whimsical, exuberant, irreverent and celebratory.” (Perfect description, FAC!) A downloadable template is available on the Fremont Arts Council website to help guide the design layout, including placement for QR codes, sponsor logos, and event details that will be added after submission.
A panel will narrow submissions down to a group of finalists, and the public will vote to choose the winner. The selected artist will receive a $500 stipend to produce the final design, plus recognition on the poster, the FAC website, email list, and social media.
