If you haven’t stopped by Fremont Baptist Church lately, it may surprise you! Bright orange-framed doors will greet you on Sunday mornings. Pastor Jeff Barker is leading the church to a resurgence in membership and outreach to the community.

FamilyWorks Food Bank is a special partner since it got its start in the church’s basement.

The church just finished their biggest fundraiser of the year at the Fremont Fair. A founding participant, the iconic wooden Orange Booth was built for the original fair back in 1972. Each year volunteers offer free hot coffee and ice-cold lemonade. This year, fairgoers generously gave donations to aid FamilyWorks Food Bank as they sipped the delicious offerings. The parking lot was also opened and folks gladly donated as they found those elusive parking spots. A grand total of $2,249.70 in donations was received to feed our neighbors!

Bringing good cheer to the neighborhood doesn’t stop there. Feeling the heat? This upcoming event will refresh your spirit! Fremont Baptist Church is inviting the community to experience “Christmas in July!” On Thursday, July 23, 7-9 p.m., there will be a Christmas Carol Sing-Along at the church at 717 N. 36th St. Traditional Christmas hymns and carols will fill the church with joyous song! Good cheer will follow with ice cream and popsicles in the lounge. All are invited for an uplifting evening of singing and fellowship. The event is free, although donations will be accepted for the Woodland Park Cooperative School, which is located in the basement of the church.
