Sunday, October 25: Fremont Rapid Response Group meet-and-greet
A newly forming Fremont rapid response group, which organizes neighbors to respond to immigration enforcement activity and share know-your-rights information, will hold an informal, alcohol-free meet-and-greet at noon Sunday at Pluto Cafe. Organizers describe it as a casual chance to meet, bring newcomers and talk through next steps. The group is also convening around the Fremont Neighborhood Council meeting on Tuesday (below).

The Fremont Neighborhood Council will hold its final regular meeting of the year at the Doric Lodge, 619 N 36th St. A board business meeting opens at 6:15 p.m. and the general meeting starts at 7, running to about 8:30. Two speakers headline: Eduardo Rojas of the Seattle Office of Economic Development on programs that help small businesses, and Brent Low, an ACLU attorney, on civil liberties and know-your-rights questions. Free “rights kits” with whistles and information will be available.
