Fremont Neighborhood Council seeks sponsors for movie night

The Fremont Neighborhood Council will bring back outdoor movie nights this summer and is looking for local businesses and community members to help keep the event free.

Fremont Movie Night is set for Tuesday, Aug. 25, with the location tentatively set for B.F. Day Ball Field. The time is yet to be determined.

Fremonsters may remember that the Fremont Outdoor Cinema was a summer fixture for 23 years until it was forced to close in 2016

“We’re excited about the opportunity to bring movie nights back to Fremont and create another way for neighbors to gather and connect,” said FNC President Colleen Kaminski.

Movie nights come with costs and volunteer power. Thus the FNC launched an event-specific fundraising campaign to raise $5,000 toward permitting, insurance, movie licensing, equipment, and future movie nights.

Three sponsorship tiers are available: a $150 Friend Sponsor level, a $500 Community Sponsor level, and a $1,000 Premier Sponsor level. Benefits vary by tier and include logo or name placement on the event banner, recognition in promotional materials, and acknowledgment in FNC’s newsletter and on its website.

Community members can also make individual small donations through the FNC website; those who want recognition will be named in the pre-movie slides at the event.

“We are especially grateful to the local businesses and residents who have chosen to support this effort,” Kaminski said. “Their generosity helps ensure that this event, like our monthly community meetings, remains free and open to everyone while laying the foundation for future community programming.”

Donations and sponsorships can be made at fremontneighborhoodcouncil.org.
