The Fremont Neighborhood Council’s September meeting is moving a week later than usual, and this one comes with an agenda item worth marking your calendar for: an FNC Candidate Forum.
The Sept. 29 candidate forum at the Doric Lodge will feature candidates from the 43rd Legislative District. Incumbent Senator Jamie Pedersen and challenger Hannah Sabio-Howell are both expected to attend, along with incumbent Representative Nicole Macri. Discussion topics include legislative priorities, the state budget, affordability, and transportation safety, followed by audience questions.
While you wait for the forum, FNC’s hyperlocal t-shirt line is worth a look. The shirts feature original designs inspired by some of Fremont’s most iconic places. They were created by longtime Fremonster and artist Lydia Heard, who serves as FNC secretary and sits on the Fremont Creative District board.
The shirts made their debut at last month’s movie night, where organizers noted the sizing runs a little small. They’re available anytime through the FNC Merch Shop at fremontneighborhoodcouncil.org/store/hyperlocal-collection.
