Some good stuff is happening in the neighborhood this week. This is just a curated list; there’s plenty more going on in Fremont. See the comprehensive calendar on our digital light pole at fremontneighbor.com/events.
Saturday, October 31: Trick or Treat in Fremont
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so Fremonsters can make a full day of it. From 3 to 6 p.m., local businesses hand out treats to costumed kids during Trick or Treat in Fremont, presented by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. Look for flyers in the windows of participating shops, or find them on the map.
Saturday, October 31: Trolloween
After dark, the Fremont Arts Council throws the Fremont Troll’s annual birthday party. Trolloween kicks off at 7 p.m. sharp under the Aurora Bridge with live music and a theatrical pageant, followed by the Haunt of Fremont, a costumed procession through the neighborhood. The route depends on the weather, but the party goes on rain or shine. It’s free and open to all ages.
Tuesday, November 3: Election Day
Ballots are due by 8 p.m. State and county officials are urging voters to use an official drop box rather than the mail this year, because a change in how the U.S. Postal Service applies postmarks can delay a ballot by several days and risk it arriving too late to count. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3, and anyone mailing close to the deadline can ask a postal clerk for a free hand-stamped postmark. King County has about 100 drop boxes, open until 8 p.m. Tuesday. See our election guide for the local details.
